Dermal fillers are used to treat the deeper lines and wrinkles of the face and can be used in combination with Botox. Dr Begum uses a range of temporary fillers including hydrafil, restylane and teosyal to get the best possible result for each patient.

What are dermal fillers?

The dermal fillers used by Dr Begum are all hyaluronic acid based, a substance naturally occurring in the body. This means they are completely natural and safe.

What are dermal fillers used to treat?

Dermal fillers are used to fill out or plump up / smooth out lines and folds on the face that have been created by the loss of elasticity of the skin due to the ageing process.

Dermal fillers are very useful for ‘filling out’ and smoothing away nose to corner lines/folds, forehead lines, frown furrows, lipstick / smoker’s lines and crowfeet lines around the eyes. Dermal fillers are also effective for the enhancement of narrow lips.

How long do the results last?

How long the results last varies between patient to patient, typically lasting between 4 and 9 months. Most patients have a follow up treatment at around 6 months.

Will it hurt?

Dr Begum anaesthetises the area to be treated to ensure the treatment is painfree.

What are the side – effects of treatment with dermal fillers?

After the treatment there may be some redness, which normally settles within 1-2 hrs. Very occasionally, slight bruising may occur at the injection site.

Can I return to work straight after treatment?

Yes. It is advisable not to have facials or similar treatments that may disturb the filler. It is also advisable to avoid strong sunlight for 2 – 3 days.

Is it safe?

Yes. The dermal fillers used by Dr Begum are completely natural and over time  are broken down by the body.

Can it be used with Botox?
Yes, combination treatment (Botox and dermal fillers) is sometimes necessary to achieve the best possible results.
