Teeth Whitening

Here at Mint Dental, Dr Begum offers the best in tooth whitening treatments. Dr  Begum is highly experienced in tooth whitening and has performed over 4000 tooth whitening procedures. Dr Begum has trained and given lectures in tooth whitening to other dentists in the UK.

Dr Begum is aware that teeth whitening is being carried by some non-dentists under meaningless job titles such as professional technicians, professional therapists. Such persons are not dentists and are not qualified to carry out any dental treatment. All dentists have a GDC registration number and Dr Begum strongly advises all persons seeking dental treatment to check this before undergoing any dental treatment.

The Teeth Whitening Treatment Options

ZOOM2 ‘laser’ teeth whitening in under one hour

Custom-made bleaching trays / gumshields

Combination

Zoom2 ‘laser’ teeth whitening in under one hour
(As seen on TV’s Extreme Makeover)

This is proving the  most popular option for whitening teeth as the results are instant with on average nine shades improvements, hassle-free  and all carried out by Dr Begum with results guaranteed. Thus you just lie back, watch a dvd and let Dr Begum do the rest.

 The procedure involves 3 steps:

  1. Following consultation, examination and consent, the gums are coated with a barrier material to prevent their exposure to the teeth whitening gel.
  2. Whitening gel is applied to the teeth and then the ZOOM blue lamp is positioned over the mouth. The gel is periodically replenished and then suctioned off at the end of treatment.
  3. Gum protection removed, take a rinse and view your instant whiter, brighter smile!

The whole process usually takes just under one hour to complete.

Custom-made bleaching trays / gumshields
This is the alternative option for whitening teeth. This option involves Dr Begum taking silicone impressions of your teeth and providing you with syringes of gel and gumshields (custom made from your impressions). With this option you will need to wear the gel-laden trays at night for usually 7-10 consecutive nights.

Your teeth will lighten gradually over the course of the treatment. This system requires at least two dental visits, greater patient co-operation and compliance, and unlike the ZOOM2 ‘laser’ whitening in-surgery treatment where results are achieved in approximately an hour, the home tray system can take several weeks to achieve results.
